A little about Square Box Studios

Turning ideas into reality

Square Box Studios is a showcase portfolio for three guys and a small freelance design and development studio. We take your ideas and turn them into reality in print and on the web. We strive to create user experiences that are engaging, intuitive, and visually appealing.

Square Box Studio is the showcase and portfolio of three guys who share a passion for design and development. We all work at the Lawrence Hall of Science at UC Berkeley as part of the design and development team called Science View. Each of us has a unique perspective on all things creative from web design to even beer brewing. Our main focus here is to showcase our work as effective designer’s and developer’s.

Our Process

How we work

Strategize

We will be asking you about your project and your organization in detail. and the scope of project. After discussing your project in detail, we will provide you with a proposal for the completion of your project. This document will detail the major portions of the project, basic recommendations, the basic time line, and the cost projections.

Plan

This step involves getting down to the specifics of the project. how the pieces will function and look (design specifications), who will be working on each part (resource allocation), and when they will be accomplished (detailed timeline). A detailed plan will be given which dictates the timing for the design, development, testing, and deployment of the project.

Design

The functional requirements and the design specifications will be used to formulate a precise vision for the implementation of the project. In addition, all details will be planned for the proper development environment and deployment of the product.

Develop & Test

The actual implementation of the project will finally get started after thorough planning and design. The product will be produced directly from the specifications. We believe in testing throughout the development phase and a major testing push at the end of development.

Maintain

Your product will be delivered to you. Instructions and documentation about how to use your project will be given to you. Major notes about the implementation and decisions made throughout the project will be documented and given as well.
